We recognise that all young people who have been exposed to abuse will suffer adverse effects. Whether it is from hearing abuse happening in another room, living in a hostile environment where adults are shouting and arguing or being directly involved in an abusive incident; these experiences can have lasting adverse effects on the well-being of children and youth.
Young people who have been impacted by domestic abuse may experience cognitive, emotional and physical effects such as: anger and depression, withdraw from normal activities or display antisocial behavior, suffer poor academic performance or become an overachiever, experience bed-wetting, suffer head aches or body aches, or they may internalise their emotions and withdraw from other people.
Through a wide range of therapeutic services and activities, we help young people recover, refocus and re-imagine a life without abuse.
Our experienced professionals provide early intervention support plans tailored to the individual needs of young people. We encourage youth voices in every step of the process enabling them to shape their own unique path to healing and empowerment.
